17 Aug Unique Critique is set for Thursday, Sept. 1
RAA members are invited to bring in one or two pieces of two-dimensional artwork for a group critique. Artists may also just come to listen and learn. The critique is led by local artist and RAA instructor, Marcy Wheeler.
The cost is $1.00 to listen, $3.00 for one piece for critique, and $5.00 for two pieces. Payment can be made by exact cash or by check made out to Marcy Wheeler.
Unique Critique is designed to help participants learn how to hear and give constructive criticism without losing their artistic vision—or their friends. Wheeler has been leading group critiques in her private painting classes for more than ten years, and has developed techniques to help artists push their work to the next level.
“I hope Unique Critique will become a fun time for artists to get and give help moving ‘stuck’ paintings and to open new doors for paintings that seem to have ‘hit a wall’. As the group gets acquainted, trust and understanding will develop. And the group can look at pieces over time to see how they progress.”
Participants are asked to bring snacks and beverages to share.
You must be a member of RAA to attend the critique. To join, bring a check for $10 for annual dues, payable to RAA, and a completed new member form. Forms and a calendar of activities are available at www.rossmoorart.com or in Art Studio 1.
