12 Apr Spring brush painting with Celia Chow
This will be the last brush painting series until January 2018.
Celia (Shung-Hwa) Chow will continue her popular Asian brush painting class on Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 12:30 in Art Studio 2. The 9-week Spring series starts on May 4 and runs through June 29. Tuition is $120.
This series is open only to experienced students, as the classes will focus on reviewing what students have learned in Chow’s classes to this point and putting these skills to use. Chow will also be going away after the last class and not teaching Asian brush painting at Rossmoor again until next January.
Chow grew up in China and later moved to Taiwan to pursue her studies in art. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art from Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan, and taught art to junior high school students in Taiwan for 14 years. She currently teaches in an East Bay Adult Education Center.
She had an exhibit in the lobby of Kaiser Hospital in Oakland while working in the hospital. In October 2014, she saw her lifelong dream to showcase a collection of her artistic journey realized when her art book and artworks were showcased at the Chinese Art Show in the Chinese Art Gallery in San Leandro, CA. In November 2014 she had another art show at the Lindsay Dirkx Brown Art Gallery in San Ramon together with other artists.
Class size is limited, and pre-enrollment is required. Please mail a check for $120, payable to RAA, to Celia Chow Huddleston, 4229 Null Drive, Antioch, CA 94509.
