18 Aug Seema Mahboob teaches a new and unique class on drawing and painting from a live model
The Rossmoor Art Association (RAA) is offering a new life drawing and painting class this fall with Bay Area artist Seema Mahboob. Mahboob has been teaching portrait drawing and painting at Rossmoor for several years, originally from photographs and more recently from a live model. This class will focus on making both full figure and portrait drawing easier and more fun for beginner and veteran artist alike. It takes the mystery away of drawing from a model.
This new class is Fridays from 9:30 am to noon, starting on September 7 and running through October 12. Tuition is $150 for six classes and includes the cost of the models. Models will be clothed in interesting wardrobe to make the artist’s experience more varied and interesting.
In this class, students will work with a model in both short and long poses. Mahboob will introduce students to the skills and tools essential for accurate rendering of the human form. Each class will start with a demonstration and a discussion of form, how to block in the figure, and the tools that will best allow you to achieve astonishing results.
