04 Jan Seema Maboob offers portrait class in February
Bay Area artist and Rossmoor instructor Seema Mahboob teaches her popular 4-week class on drawing or painting portraits from a photograph, starting February 5 and running through February 26. Classes are on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in Art Studio Two.
The cost for the 4-week series is $100. Students may work in any medium of their choice. Make-up time for a missed class may be scheduled with the instructor.
Mahboob will introduce students to the skills and tools essential for accurate rendering from a photograph. Learn the important tools to see correctly and to interpret what you see. Understand the importance of form shadows and cast shadows and what role shadows play in achieving a realistic portrait. Explore negative shapes, angles and comparative measurements and learn ways to see and interpret what is in the photograph.
