RAA offers 4-day workshop on “Drawing the Figure in Proportion” the first week of October

Back by popular demand Struggling to get human proportions right? Perplexed by foreshortening? Wishing you could capture the body in motion? Bay Area figurative artist Judith Kunzlé shows you how to do this and more in her four-day workshop, “Drawing the Figure in Proportion.”

RAA is offering the workshop again this fall on Monday, October 1 through Thursday, October 4. Sessions are from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm each day in Art Studio Two at Gateway. Taking the workshop on four consecutive days allows you to immerse yourself in studying and understanding the human figure. And it gets you ready for Kunzlé’s Saturday-morning figure drawing lab, which starts on October 6.

Attending workshops is the best way to acquire new skills. Well, you can always read a book or watch a video online, but I do not think that those are better. There are people who strive in self learning, but let us be honest, that is not always the case. People are better at grasping things when they are taught by others. I am encouraging everyone to just go and attend all the workshops that they can get their hands on.
