The Princess Bride is a 1987 American adventure film. While home sick in bed, a young boy’s
grandfather reads him the story of a farmhand named Westley, accompanied by companions befriended along the way, who must rescue Princess Buttercup from the odious Prince Humperdinck. The farm boy-turned-pirate encounters numerous obstacles, enemies and allies in his quest to be reunited with his true love. It is directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner, and stars Cary Elwes and Robin Wright.
