RAA Introduces a New Monthly Critique Led by Marcy Wheeler

The Rossmoor Art Association is launching a new monthly event called “Unique Critique.”
The first critique will be on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 in Art Studio 2.
RAA members are invited to bring in one or two pieces of two-dimensional artwork for a group critique. Artists may also just come to listen and learn.
Unique Critique will be led by local artist and RAA instructor Marcy Wheeler.
The program will continue on the first Thursday evening of each month. The cost is $1.00 to listen, $3.00 for one piece for critique, and $5.00 for two pieces. Payment can be made by cash or check.
Unique Critique is designed to help participants learn how to hear and give constructive criticism without losing their artistic vision, or their friends. Wheeler has been leading group critiques in her private painting classes for more than ten years, and has developed techniques to help artists push their work to the next level.
“I hope Unique Critique will become a fun time for artists to get and give help moving ‘stuck’ paintings and to open new doors for paintings that seem to have ‘hit a wall’. As the group gets acquainted, trust and understanding will develop. And the group can look at pieces over time to see how they progress.”
Participants are asked to bring snacks and beverages to share.
You must be a member of RAA to attend the critique. To join, bring a check for $10 for annual dues, payable to RAA, and a new member form. Forms and a calendar of activities are available at www.rossmoorart.com or in Art Studio 1.
