“Life Figure Drawing” class with Steve Osborn

RAA is offering a figure drawing class with illustrator and graphic designer Stephen Osborn this fall. The class will have an exciting format with a costumed model posing for some classes and a nude model for others. This class is a must for those wishing to capture the energy and beauty of the human form. This class is open to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. It will start on Friday, October 11 for six weeks from 1 to 3:30 pm in Studio Two.

The format of the class will provide basic elements of line, shape, shadow, perspective and allow the participants to work in various mediums including; pencil, conte crayon, pastels, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic. More advanced students can draw at their own pace. The class is designed to provide a comfortable, creative and fun experience for all.

Supplies can start with just a soft lead pencil and a medium sized sketch pad (about 11 x 17) to start. You may add more supplies as needed or wanted. Steve will guide you in your progress as well as choice of mediums to work in. You may want to experiment in several mediums and techniques. Steve is unique in that he can assist you in your ability to draw as well as in being proficient in most mediums.

Stephen was an art instructor at San Jose State as well as a multi award-winning illustrator and graphic designer working with major clients such as Hewlett Packard, Intel, Apple, Syntex Pharmaceuticals, and Applied Materials.

He is as Rossmoor resident, holds a board position with RAA and currently creates a weekly cartoon for the Rossmoor News when not painting and exhibiting around northern California.

You must be a member of the Rossmoor Art Association to take the class. Non-residents may take the class space allowing. They must be sponsored by a Rossmoor resident who is also taking the class. The cost for non-residents is $150.
