18 Aug John Hopper’s “Watercolor for the FUN of it” class starts Wednesday, September 5
Returning from teaching watercolor classes on the Queen Mary 2 this summer, John Hopper has new, FUN insights into making your watercolor experience exciting and rewarding. He also has some wonderful stories to tell.
His next Wednesday evening watercolor class is 7-9 pm, starting Wednesday September 5 and running through October 10. The fee is $75 for RAA members, $95 for non-Rossmoor residents.
The classes cover what John loves to do: washes, skies that are all colors and mixes, waterscapes that are turbulent, calm, reflective, dramatic and enticing. A mixed palette in transparent watercolor and the inherent resistance of some pigments brushed into others creates surprising results. The innovative painter can push the medium to emotional heights that the viewer can’t possibly experience in nature or photography. Whether realistic, impressionist or abstract—watercolor can be fun and exhilarating.
