27 Oct Figure drawing exhibit opens in Art Studio 1

A new exhibit by members of Norman Weiner’s Friday afternoon figure drawing class is now on display in Art Studio 1. Twenty-five pieces are featured and include drawings in charcoal, pencil and ink, as well as watercolor and acrylics.
Among the artists are Angela Cheng, Sally Anderson, Garia Gant, Barbara Gerber, Loreta Landucci, Stephen Osborn, Katherine Rooney, Sabrina Siojo, and Iris Timmerman. Several pieces by Norman Weiner are also on display. Weiner believes that “competent drawing begins with correct observation. Looking at different views of the model can add greatly to achieving a successful piece of art.” The pieces in the exhibit show the model from many viewpoints and are successful examples of both realist and expressionist figure drawing. |
