“What if? Why not?! — Mixing Media and Methods” 

This class is fun and often surprising. Common and uncommon materials conspire with you in each new experiment. Join this relaxing, evolving class series in Studio 1, where we explore the principles of composition using both a conventional and unconventional eye. Build a piece with mementos or simply play. The finest ingredient is the imagination.

Add a little music, and we gently allow ourselves to let go of the outside world. Classes culminate with our own “art and wine festival”. Each art-maker typically completes several pieces. No experience necessary.

Guided projects at the outset involve working on boards, paper, or canvas and selecting from an assortment of provided ingredients. Members then utilize their own materials or may prefer to continue with additional provided materials.

Collect interesting found materials which resonate, and the odd tool to work them– string, mesh, music sheets, fabrics, packaging foils, tissue papers, the odd bits. Tools for assembling are provided. Or, simple pen marks over a swath of paint might do. We explore a range of media; you choose the combinations.
