On Tuesday afternoons surround yourself with the new Studio 1 digs, where we’ll invite some new Spring energy to animate our painting tools. Whether beginners or MFA, we join in on a fresh look at fundamentals. Receive constant support at your easels from artist, Anna George.
Work a new painting or resume or revisit a piece. Whether abstract or representational, gain insight in how to work your individual style in oils or acrylics. Try fresh ideas. Skirt common pitfalls in this convivial class. New painters receive guidance on acquiring quality materials.
Anna helps students to achieve good sequencing in the painting process and simplifies new and age-old painting concepts. With short demonstrations and handouts and a bit of levity she offers information on form, light, composition, values, atmospheric perspective, color mixing, and more. Painters at times request of her a special focus or demo.
Connect the dots of composition, color partnering, and technique. Paint using personally chosen sources, preferably photographic, and benefit from sharing your process with others if you wish.
“I like my students to paint what they love,” Anna says, who has been a working artist for decades and offering classes in Walnut Creek for more than eleven years. “We enjoy each other’s company, and I feel proud of my students’ growth. It’s a warm place—we have fun and, as it happens, we uplift each other.” All celebrate in the final class with a group showing of finished work and pieces in progress.
Anna has exhibited in the U.S. and Italy. She is currently making and showing both abstract and representational art; she also paints on silk.
