Mixing Medias and Methods with Anna George

September 29 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The autumn will inspire innovative work which uses common and uncommon materials in this fun, new series from Anna George. Any proclivity for repurposing enhances as we integrate principles of composition and address each surface with both unconventional and conventional materials. Build a piece with mementos or simply play. The finest ingredient is the imagination.

“What if? Why not?” is a nine-week class convening on Wednesday afternoons from 1 – 3:30 pm beginning September 1st, running through October 27th.

Guided projects at the outset involve working on boards and selecting from an assortment of provided ingredients. Members then utilize their own materials, or if preferred, continue with additional provided materials for a fee.

Class members are invited to collect interesting found materials which resonate. Thread, string, mesh, music sheets, broom straw, fabrics, pine needles, packaging foils, wood shavings, lace, tissue papers, onion skins, plastic bits, twigs, fur, etc. Tools for assembling are provided.

Tuition is $135. Sign up at RossmoorArt.com or send a check made out to RAA to George at 2956 Tice Creek Drive #3. Materials fee for the first three weeks is $25; please make out a separate check to Anna George.

The instructor has offered classes in Rossmoor for over ten years, cultivating a convivial place for all to create and to let go of the outer world.
