Drawing the Natural World, intermediate level-
Tuesday April 25- May 30 (6 sessions) Tuesdays 9:30-12:30
This six-week intermediate course is designed for students who have some of the basic skills to draw and takes them to the next level of complexity in drawing natural scenes that might include a tree, a landscape, a garden with flowers and insects, or a beach with rocks and sea animals, birds and water. It is also open to for those who want to do bigger work or abstract drawing.
We will use pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, and watercolor combined with pencils. We will continue to draw from real specimens. There will be some focus on how to create a scene or a story with natural elements or to create a series with a theme.
This course focuses on creativity and on learning about the use of color, solvents, creating interesting backgrounds in which to put your natural elements like birds and flowers or water. Demos are part of most classes and the instructor also works with every student on their projects individually. Please come with your sketchbook and pencils (dark or colored) and plan to have fun.
