Beginning Drawing the Natural World, basic level–

Branches, leaves, flowers, fruit

February 15- April 5 (8 weeks) No class March 1 and March 22

This eight class basic course will connect you with the wonder of the nature around you and introduce you to drawing natural world elements such as branches, leaves, small flowers, fruit etc.

We will use pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, or pastels (when used outside). Emphasis is on drawing the things you see in front of you and not necessarily working from photos. Small things are brought into the studio or your home as models.

This course will focus on learning about line weight, form, shading and composition and making lively, interesting, and beautiful drawings. Demos are part of most classes, and the instructor works with every student.

Please come with your sketchbook and pencils (dark or colored) and plan to have fun. Weather permitting, we may work outside some days.  A basic kit of materials can be purchased from the instructor upon prior request.

Materials: Sketchbook, pencils (lead-2H, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), Charcoal pencils (medium, dark, white) colored pencils (a full set), pastels (only to be used outside). Email instructor for further info on materials. Instructor will have loose drawing paper (colored and white) for purchase as well.
