Have you ever wanted to learn how to use a printmaking press?
Explore color, texture ,and layering? Then this Monotype printing
for all Seasons Demo is for you! In this two hour session we will
cover how to mix color, use everyday materials to create texture,
and use multiple processes to create one of a kind prints. We will
take time to imagine Spring – Summer – Fall – Winter through
color, texture, and whimsical marks taken directly from inside and
outside of the workroom. Using traditional and contemporary
printmaking methods you will learn how to work with materials,
ink, and the printmaking press to envision your favorite season.’
Artist Bio:
Meg Pohlod is a print artist based in the Bay Area. She is a
Printmaking Faculty at Laney College in Oakland, California. She
received her MFA in printmaking from the University of Alberta in
- Her visual research examines the body as interior and
exterior space; questioning what happens with memory attached
to trauma of abandonment when triggered by image, place and
time. Pohlod has exhibited work, and been a visiting artist
nationally and internationally. When she is not printing in the
studio she is enjoying walks with her chihuahua Rupert and
partner Max.
