21 Dec Colleen Gianatiempo’s Mixed Media Class is an exciting RAA debut!
Imagine a class named “Painting uninhibited with self expression in mixed media”. Are your creative ideas flowing? Colleen Gianatiempo’s innovative Mixed Media session of eight classes will be an adventure for the inspired artist trapped inside you. If you saw her RAA Demo in Studio One you know what we’re talking about.
Colleen’s class will brighten your winter with a series which starts Thursday, January 24 and runs through March 14, 2019. Class meets on Thursdays from 9:30 until 12 noon in Studio One. Tuition for the eight 2 1/2 hour sessions is $150. The instructor will supply all materials (an additional $35 materials fee paid to the instructor at the first class).
The fun and main focus of each class is about self-expression and learning to trust your artistic voice and your own visual language. Formal art concepts will be woven into the instruction. Each week, students will learn about the elements of design, color, the mechanics of competition and how to critique their own work.
You are encouraged to bring any of your own supplies such as acrylic paint, papers of any kind for collage, tools you may use for texture and if you wish any color xerox’s of any images you may want to incorporate into your work (no ink jet, only toner copies).
There is no experience necessary for this class! The only trait that is required is a sense of FEARLESS adventure and play! The atmosphere in the classroom will be a safe and nurturing environment in which you will be able to kick your inner critic out of the room!
Colleen Gianatiempo lives and works in the East Bay of San Francisco (Martinez) creating, marketing and selling her art. She has a degree in Business, Graphic Design and is a Master of Fine Art. She enjoys teaching art to all levels and all ages, as the creative spirit within each of us is what truly inspires her.
The class is limited to 12 students and pre-enrollment is required. To register, RAA Members send a check for $150, payable to “RAA”, addressed to RAA Class Enrollment, 1966 Tice Valley Blvd, #278, Walnut Creek, CA 94595 before 1/22/2019. Note on the check memo line: “Expressive Mixed Media”. Also include your name, address, phone number and email address. Colleen will send a suggested supplemental list to everyone who registers (things to bring like apron, paper towels etc.).
