“Watercolor for the FUN of it” Returns to RAA Studio One on Wednesday evenings!

John Hopper’s much loved watercolor classes will resume on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, September 20th

in RAA Studio One at the Gateway Complex.  This evening watercolor class from 6 to 8pm will be open to just 24 participants for the six week session of classes.  Those of you returning to the classes can attest to the FUN that both beginner and veteran water-colorists enjoy in John’s watercolor journey.

Each week of the class there will be a new subject to paint providing diversity and varying techniques so everyone can find FUN and enjoy new insights into the marvelous medium that is watercolor.  Come, get your brushes out and “wash” your way to wonderful and FUN watercolor experiences.  To add to the experience you can bring your iPad, laptop or iPhone to the class and connect through ZOOM to get up close brush stroke by brushstroke at your work area, plus in Studio help.

Each of the six evening classes is two hours each.  The fee for all six classes total is $90 for RAA Members.  Non members is $110. You can register & pay online at: www.rossmoorart.com/classes.

John Hopper is a Rossmoor resident, has provided classes and demonstrations at Rossmoor and throughout the West.  He has taught watercolor aboard the Cunard Line QM2 to Europe and on Queen Elizabeth 2 to Alaska.  He exhibits in galleries and venues throughout the country including; Seattle Art Museum, Carnegie Institute, and has been accepted in national shows. John Hopper, Instructor

John works in oils, acrylics and watercolors. He is also an avid photographer. John owns his own graphic arts & advertising agency in Walnut Creek. Born in Seattle, John has won scholarships and awards for his painting and has been exhibited at Seattle Art Museum, Frederick & Nelson's, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, PA and numerous private galleries. Locally he has exhibited at Lafayette Studios, John Muir Hospital, Lafayette Art & Wine, and recently had a one-artist retrospect at Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church. John's work is part of a group exhibit at the Contra Costa County Office Building in Martinez through AC5 - Art Passages. He is a member of Lamorinda Arts Alliance, California Watercolor Association and Rossmoor Art Association. John also coducts watercolor classes on the Queen Mary2 and on Queen Elizabeth cruises for Cunard Lines. He is an instructor at Rossmoor and has "Watercolor Just for the FUN of it" classes on a continuing schedule. "Watercolor Just for the FUN of it" is the name of his current book.
