14 Sep Anna George leads twelve-week fall semester oils and acrylics class for all levels
On Tuesday afternoons Anna George leads a convivial class of new, intermediate and advanced painters in Studio One from 1–4pm. The class starts September 24th and runs twelve weeks, through December 10th, 2019.
Using either oils or acrylics, we dismiss the outside world and explore individual methods and style. Students develop visual acuity as they capture essence and express beyond depicting.
Class members work out strong compositions with easily applied principles which dovetail with color experiment, color mixing, and placement of elements. Learn to use bristle, painting knives, and mediums, while pursuing abstract or representational. Novice painters integrate painting fundamentals.
George assists everyone at their easels with a warm and supportive approach, often with levity. Painting is fun, so let’s develop new skills in comfortable surroundings among other painters, enjoying as much or as little structure as desired. George notes that progress and outcomes usually exceed students’ expectations.
Capping the experience is a special studio showing of all work during the extended closing class, the fine art/flavor “festival”.
Anna George studied fine art in two east coast colleges and universities and has exhibited since. She founded a fine art gallery, launched (and hosts) the Wednesday RAA Soirées des Artistes, and currently works on canvas, linen and silk.
